Hardware of nuvi devices

On this resource there is a lot of information on the software of nuvi navigators, but almost anything isn't present about hardware. Research of hardware of these devices is a very interesting subject. On an example of some of them it is possible to trace evolution of development of navigators, and also to find a set of interesting engineering decisions.

I suggest to place here any interesting information on this subject.

Both model had with different GPS chip!

P.S. My suggestion - make a tables (databases) with the interesting parameter for all model. Then everyone will be able to obtain the necessary information and upload it for inclusion in the database!

There is original cable. At least, it is in a complete set with Russian 3490. It is an audio output on jack 3.5mm.

It is not Russia exactly

I remember only that fact! I am not rich enough to buy V7 4GB O36 DS TC HP GTL at a double price as opposed to O35 MA DA TC PP GM V7 or 8GB O36 DS TC GTL or all the more so 16Gb (Nuvi 3590)...

I have in my collection many-many data! But it is a bunch of notes! But if they need someone why not a structured their!!! Do you want moderate this theme???
Also if anybody need in some data I may extract and collect it! Now I'm doing it without a reason. I want - I do not want to...

Thing I noticed is that the processor is a Cortex A8. This could conceivably run Android, if it had enough onboard memory.

It is not big secret! Garmin use in the latest device a chip for consumer goods. It is very cheaper and brand name give the most of the profits!
That is why old Garmin device render map in more quick in compare with new Nuvi. But simple old device cost more 300 USD!!!

I'm looking for hardware info on 3790/3490 powered Mount. (pinout)
The objective is to extract audio signal from mount and feed to car radio or amplifier or headphone.
Also how to open mount without damage.

My 3490 is only 2 GB

Have you tried to use it ?
Another user tried it before and it did not work ?
Maybe you can try it and give feedback.

036 could be GTM36 ?
