Some Nuvi 200 Russian have 256Mb on board!
In any case even 2Gb on board is not enough for Europe or North America map today. But 4Gb on SD had not allowed to combine two this maps for example. I think Garmin was obliged to meet the users...

Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
OUCH! Makes it next to useless really without an sd. And here's us bitching about 'tiny' 1 GiB internal.
You mean by enabling 2nd sd map gmapsup1, i suppose. Not really wondering why they didn't just enable a Map folder for legacy models, or at least also enable a 3rd and even 4th map for sd\Garmin. From a layman's view i wouldn't have thought the fw change would be much different or difficult, dunno though. I wouldn't be alone in cynically thinking that they didn't want to make it too easy for people to want to hold on to their old units, i'd reckon. Gotta leave the punters with some reason to want to buy upgraded hw ... business is business. Sort of surprising that they even gave us gmapsup1 in a way, must have been a lot of pressure from somewhere i think, or maybe they did just feel a spontaneous obligation to do so ..... [laugh, snort, chortle, choke]... [It's ok, i'm over that mental lapse, now]... Nah! There must have been pressure....... I think Garmin was obliged to meet the users...
