N how do give names for Garmin nuvi 1300 with multiple maps
You can have 4 map images in your GarminMobilePC folder and you name them depending on which Version you have:
In v5.00.60 and earlier:
gmapbmap.img (Base Map)
gmapprom.img (detail map)
gmapsupp.img (detail map)
gmapsup2.img (detail map)
[same above naming is applicable to GarminMobileXT]
In v5.00.70:
gmapbmap.img (Base Map)
gmapprom.img (detail map)
gmapprom1.img (detail map)
gmapsupp.img (detail map)
v5.00.60 & earlier won't recognize gmapprom1 and v5.00.70 won't recognize gmapsup2, but either way you can have 3 detail maps plus the base map.
If you want even more maps, you can of course combine them with MapSource or MapInstall up to the 2GiB-1byte image size limit and then have almost 6GiB of detail maps, or just keep in your GMPC folder additional maps conveniently named (nth_amer.img for example) and rename to a legitimate .img when needed.
If you are confident using a hex editor, you may try adding a fourth detail map (gmapsup2.img) in GMPC v5.00.70, thanks to syzygy. See Post #46 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] but take note of syzygy's recommendation to backup your que.exe and the "use at own risk" disclaimer.

You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
You posted a similar help request in another thread, which i answered here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Please don't post multiple help requests for the same thing in different threads. Your post for nuvi 1300 map naming help really doesn't belong in this GMPC naming thread and by searching you could have found all the links given by catymag (who is a tower of patiences for not chiding you). But then, you could have found out everything i told you over in the other thread by search and patiently reading the cx thread etc..... And i didn't "chip" you there, but Caty did.![]()
great post!
I installed Garmin Mobile XT on my Nokia C7 (OS belle).
Ram : 256 MB
ROM : 512 MB
CPU : 680 Mhz
Mass storage : still 2GB left
I want to combine those map with gmaptool, but the file size will be bigger, right?
Is there such a size limitation of the combined-map or not?
thanks a lot.

I already have 4 map in my phone and it works just like neil's said.
But, I want more maps. So, I use Gmaptools to join those maps.

In GMXT & GMPC it is 2 GiB minus 1 byte. I would be interested to know if you are having any problem with GMXT running on Belle. Are you experiencing any CPU 100% usage/lockup, or any keyboard problems?

Thanks to your answer.
I don't have any problem. This GMXT running very well now.
But, when I used this phone on Anna OS, sometimes I had keyboard problems and sometimes GMXT stop running.
Then, to prevent the same problems like that, I use third party application: memory up pro.
That app will kill every unnecessary processes. So, GMXT will runs better.
or, you can change your cache memory to external, not in drive C.
Anyway, belle is faster than anna, but there's some problems when playing video files.

Thanks. We best continue this in the XT thread, less OT than here![]()
