OK... when you say "I don't have any maps inside the device" i assume you mean detail maps, but you do have a base map (gmapbmap.img) in your .system folder. It is helpful to have a routable map (ie a detail map) in your device because the basemap is (usually) not routable.
You can have as many anyname.img's in your Map folder as you like. You should use JM to unlock your CX maps. Please read and follow the instructions in Post #1 of this thread. It may be that you have been able to use previous CX maps after unlocking with an another unlocker, but maybe that it is not working with Chennai CX. Humour me, use JetMouse 'coz we know it works.IN my SD card I have [Garmin and Map(created by me) folders] and a syncguide.dat file. I have unlocked all the xplorer maps (Chennai, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Banglore and New Delhi) using the "unlock script.bat" and put it in the map folder....
Why not run FIU on it just in case it's not really fully unlocked. Again, humour me...... And in my garmin folder I only have gmapsupp.img and.unl file....
In your Garmin folder? The POI folder should be in the root.... and a POI folder with poi.poi in it.
And there it is... how can you have unlocked the CX with JM to go in the sd card if you haven't got the CID?......Ding!!..times up!.. YOU CAN'T. You must enter the sd's Card ID in JM, not the nuvi unit's id. To find the CID, with the sd in the unit, and in the "Where To/View Map" screen, hold you finger on the top RH corner for several seconds. A hidden menu will appear. Press next>next and you'll see "Data Card Test Page" The info after "Serial" is your sd's CID. Use THAT number in JM to generate the .unl file for your Chennai CX. Don't forget to read the info in the Chennai thread and use FID=2085, PID=2, RgnID=1, VenID=3.Actually when I unlocked using JM kg and put the chennai file inside the map folder, while starting the device it said can't unlock maps. After I unlocked with bat file, EPM wasn'tavailable, but I could see some updates in POI Food( they had more options like asian, chinese etc).
From what you have posted, I think i need that .gma and .unl file for SD card. How to find the SD card ID?
Let's see how you go now....![]()
