In 1300, an 'anyname.img' will NOT work inside the Garmin folder neither in unit nor in sd. Create a "Map" folder (w/o quotes) in the root, preferably in the sd in case something goes wrong. The files can be anyname.img in Map folder and as many as you like with different names. In the nuvi's hidden .system folder you have to respect the traditional naming, ie gmapprom.img & gmapprom1.img only (gmapoem may also work, but will not be deselectable). In the sd Garmin folder only gmapsupp.img will work. See [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
If you have the full [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], it will work as both CN & CX because it contains both maps (check that thread). If you also have CNNT India 2011.40, for instance, do NOT select them both together, only select one and uncheck the other. An unlock file (*.unl) is useless for CNNT's with id 2200 and more. Use *[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for them and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to create an unl file for CX only.
*EDIT: Now only use of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] is recommended for modern CNs. Fast Image Unlocker is quite outdated.

My main India map file is in a SD device inside folder GARMIN named as gmapsupp.img along with its .unl file. I have downloaded the chennai XP file and unlocked it using the garmin "unlock script.bat file" and copied the unlocked img file into the SD device in a separate folder named map.
I can see some added options in POI's. But not EPM routes are not available.
What map exactly is your "main India map file"? Is it's id =>2200, as i presume it is? If so as i said in my previous reply unless it's already unlocked, you must unlock it with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. That's fine to have it as the only map in your sd's Garmin folder, named gmapsupp.img. If it's a purchased map you would need to have a .gma file as well as an .unl file specific for that sd's Card ID. .... So where did you get it and what is it? You need to tell us for us to help you or we are all just fumbling in the dark trying to guess as i am now. As for the Chennai CX map, if it's locked use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to create an unlock code for it. It will be ok in Map folder with the unlock file. Don't select both maps together if your main map is a CNNT as i assume it is. Post again with all info if you still need help.
My map ID is 1709. I got bought map from Satguide. My India map is working. (I don't have any maps inside the device, it is just the normal files and some updates). IN my SD card I have [Garmin and Map(created by me) folders] and a syncguide.dat file. I have unlocked all the xplorer maps (Chennai, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Banglore and New Delhi) using the "unlock script.bat" and put it in the map folder. And in my garmin folder I only have gmapsupp.img and.unl file, and a POI folder with poi.poi in it.
Actually when I unlocked using JM kg and put the chennai file inside the map folder, while starting the device it said can't unlock maps. After I unlocked with bat file, EPM wasn'tavailable, but I could see some updates in POI Food( they had more options like asian, chinese etc).
From what you have posted, I think i need that .gma and .unl file for SD card. How to find the SD card ID?
Thanks
OK... when you say "I don't have any maps inside the device" i assume you mean detail maps, but you do have a base map (gmapbmap.img) in your .system folder. It is helpful to have a routable map (ie a detail map) in your device because the basemap is (usually) not routable.
You can have as many anyname.img's in your Map folder as you like. You should use JM to unlock your CX maps. Please read and follow the instructions in Post #1 of this thread. It may be that you have been able to use previous CX maps after unlocking with an another unlocker, but maybe that it is not working with Chennai CX. Humour me, use JetMouse 'coz we know it works.IN my SD card I have [Garmin and Map(created by me) folders] and a syncguide.dat file. I have unlocked all the xplorer maps (Chennai, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Banglore and New Delhi) using the "unlock script.bat" and put it in the map folder....
Why not run FIU on it just in case it's not really fully unlocked. Again, humour me...... And in my garmin folder I only have gmapsupp.img and.unl file....
In your Garmin folder? The POI folder should be in the root.... and a POI folder with poi.poi in it.
And there it is... how can you have unlocked the CX with JM to go in the sd card if you haven't got the CID?......Ding!!..times up!.. YOU CAN'T. You must enter the sd's Card ID in JM, not the nuvi unit's id. To find the CID, with the sd in the unit, and in the "Where To/View Map" screen, hold you finger on the top RH corner for several seconds. A hidden menu will appear. Press next>next and you'll see "Data Card Test Page" The info after "Serial" is your sd's CID. Use THAT number in JM to generate the .unl file for your Chennai CX. Don't forget to read the info in the Chennai thread and use FID=2085, PID=2, RgnID=1, VenID=3.Actually when I unlocked using JM kg and put the chennai file inside the map folder, while starting the device it said can't unlock maps. After I unlocked with bat file, EPM wasn'tavailable, but I could see some updates in POI Food( they had more options like asian, chinese etc).

Let's see how you go now....
MY base map is AMR Autoroute Basemap NR 2.00 (I got it from toos-settings-system-about-detailed maps) I dont find any gmapbmap.img in .system folder. I actually oredered this from US and got my map from satguide,
GR8 Finally I got it. Powered by city Xplorer. Thanks tonstons, I'm really happy, have been working since morning. I put my SD card ID and it is working, thanks.
But chennai city Xplorer is ridiculous, the route options have only train and walk, no bus transport (anyway the map I have is 2010). ANyway I'm happy. Any latest explorer maps
