I use mostly Basecamp, so I simply mixed two things in my mind: seeing usb-drives themselves, and seeing what's actually on them.
Mapsource that I found here can see even all my HDs, too.

Yes but when I instal in PC is to be use by MS or BC not to put in unit . As Isaid earlier I always keep the original files in case

Hi,

For those who are interested, here is an interesting simple method to transfer heavy home made .jnx files installed in Basecamp hidden folder from C: (formatted in NFTS) to another NFTS disk (external or internal).
I applied this method to my own made .jnx files either under Vista or Seven and it might work under 8 as well.

Hidden folder "JnxFiles" is located in :

C:\Users\"your computer name"\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp

After creating the path F:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Basecamp (F: being the disk where you want to move your .jnx files), copy this folder JnxFiles in it.

Once copied in F:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Basecamp, rename folder JnxFiles in JnxFiles2.

Then rename JnxFiles folder located in C:\Users\"your computer name"\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp in _JnxFiles.

Then open and run in administrator mode command prompt and write :

mklink "C:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp\JnxFiles" "F:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp\JnxFiles2" /D

Then enter and it's done.

Open Basecamp to check your .jnx files are still there: if it' OK, you can delete _JnxFiles in C:, increasing free disk space on C:

This method, called "symbolic link method", is reversible :

- close Basecamp
- delete symbolic link (created in C: in JnxFiles folder original location and displayed with a shortcut icon).
- move JnxFiles2 folder from F: to C: giving it back original name JnxFiles.

This method also works very well to move maps installed in MapSource in gmap folder.
