The latest version of RGN Voice Editor capable of enabling an unsupported TTS voice is available from turboccc here:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
How to use it to modify your fw to support a currently unsupported voice? Here is the guide thanks to turboccc [also observe the additional notes at the base of this post]:
    Code:

(Wikispaces now defunct, here's Turbo's copy from there and make sure you read the readme.txt file included in the above zip file and read the "How-To" below).
    RGNVoiceEditor

This program allows you to view and modify the list of TTS and non-TTS voices supported by your GPS firmware.

Why would you want to do this?

You converted your GPS to use a firmware from another country (using RGN_Tool) and you suddenly have an "Incompatible audio version" when you select a new voice. Or, you may want to install a new VPM voice, but you get the "Incompatible audio version" message on the GPS. This error message appears because the new voice is not listed inside the firmware. RGNVoiceEditor allows you to replace one of the existing voice by a new one included in the list of supported voices.

What if I do not see my new voice in the list?

Just send me an email or post a message in the discussion here on this site. I will add it in no time.

    Official disclaimers:

Do this at your own risks!
Do not flash any FW if you are getting weird errors

    How-To

1- Open your .rgn firmware file (for .gcd, use RGN_Tool to convert it to .rgn)
2- Replace the voice on the left by a new voice in the right column. Use the scroll bar to view all the voices.
3- Save the changes to a new .rgn file.
    4- Flash the modified firmware.
Unfortunately tubro seems to be 'missing in action' reportedly due to work commitments and may not be available to answer support question at present. We hope he finds more time to be available soon.

    Some additional observations:

    1. Before you flash the modified fw, backup your unit's internal files and do an NV Backup [essential if you have a problem to restore your unit]. Go now to the following link before you do anything else and do it: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    2. Clear Nonvol or hard reset your unit both before and after flashing the modded fw: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you can clear nonvol [eg xx, 1/2/3xxx then do that as better than hard reset], if not possible then do a hard reset [eg 2/3/4/7xx series].
