Change the built-in preloaded basemap in Garmin GPSmap 60/76C(S)x (Basemap Atlantic v2)
Also change Atlantic to Americas, or either of them to Pacific and vice versa - See Post #9 for Pacific v2 basemap
This program is made to change the built-in preloaded basemap in Garmin GPSmap 60/76C(S)x devices.
It works on other Garmin devices as well (etrex/Legend HCx and compatible StreetPilots [c320, 2610 & 2720 tested]. Should work with similar units which load the basemap to rgn3).
How to apply this Program:
1. Connect your GPS to your computer
2. Start the Atlantikbasemap.bat by doubleclicking it
3. Wait a few seconds untill the flash is complete.
If you want to flash the US basemap then start USbasemap.bat
In Garmin GPSmap 60/76C(S)x US version you have 4 languages (english, spanish, portuguese and french) in European version there are much more languages,with this you can unlock in US version all European languages.
The Atlantic Highway basemap includes Europe, extreme western Russia, Africa, and the Middle East, and covers an area from N75 to S60 Latitude, W30 to E60 Longitude. Also included is a high-level worldwide map with political boundaries and major cities.
Please note: Garmin mapping units come with built-in, permanent basemaps
Factory-installed basemaps cannot be altered.....(usually)

Followed the above instructions, fast easy process of base map change on my 76 CX. Strange bit of trickery to get the file to down load off that site but it did eventually work. Originally Posted by catymag

Confirmed working on SP2720, other similar units including GPSMAP 60/76C(S)x localised for NA or EU which use rgn3 for basemap should also be able to flash this basemap for use in Pacific area.
Extract the rar file to somewhere convenient on your PC. Drag Pacificbasemap.rgn onto Updater.exe and connect your unit to PC, select the appropriate connection and press OK to flash when unit is detected. Don't interrupt the flash or your unit may brick. Your current Americas or Atlantic basemap will be overwritten. Confirm your unit is compatible BEFORE flashing.
