You can just paste "81D8B8..." into your favorite hex editor, as "81D8B8..." is a valid binary form, i.e. 81 is the 1st byte, D8 is the next byte and so on.
As far as I've seen in the firmware, GMA contains old-good 25-character unlock codes. But I don't know all the details. I've seen that GMA parser uses AES for something. I really don't know what for.
We're looking for a way to forge GMA files. Or sign patched GCD files, which would much more useful for me.

Well, as far as I know unlocked maps are not as good as the originals (some minor functionality is lost, I just don't remember which one exactly).
