Thread: Drivesmart 61 transform to Camper

Hello to everyone. I heard that the Drivesmart 61 can be transformed/ converted to a Camper unit,( like 255 to 465, or 2460 to dezl 560) but I don't know to which exact model. Can someone give me the answer,please.

Use a hex editor to search both the subject and intended target firmware for "1.0.5.-." where "." is a wildcard to find "1 0 5 - x x x x x - x x". If you find matches in "x x x x x - x x" that also match the PCB P/N shown in the DS 61's hidden menu behind the battery symbol then you might be able to successfully cross-flash. I made Nuvi 2699 on Camper 660 and there were no problems.

The conversion is already made. I convinced a friend to give me his unit for the try. Thanks God,everything is ok. The only "problem" is that it still shows drivesmart61 instead of Camper 770. But all the options for motorhome are there. If someone knows how to change that, I am ready to try.

Did you do a full conversion to camper 770 or a partial conversion using original boot.bin in hybrid fw retaining DS61's HWID?

I think it is full - I used firmware for Camper 770, and changed only the 4 numbers at the beginning in the name of the .rgn file with the HWID of drivesm61. In other words,I have only renamed the .rgn file,so that the unit can recognize it.

Thanks,but why the model is still drivesmart61? In n�vi 2460 for example, at least it changes to dezl 2460.
