What you should do is make a backup of it now before you go any further. Extract this directly to a clean microSD: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. With the device fully OFF (hold the power button down for 10 - 30 secs to force it off if necessary) insert the card then power on. If it's getting far enough into the boot cycle it'll be able to read from and write to the card. If it works you'll have a new file 154.bin in the card's root. So if it's successful if worst comes to worst and nothing further works you can always erase it's non-vol as a last resort as that's where corruption is most likely if actually present.

Hi Butters, finally got it working. I used Smokefrees' guide (cure, format, original) and it finally worked. Thanks for taking the time to assist.

While on the subject, is it possible to use a downloaded .img file with the newest firmware or are they just too locked down.I Use 'borrowed' maps all the time on my older Nuvi's but the 65LM refuses to use them on the newest firmware.
