    Default Garmin Infotainment

hello i am searching for a way to get rid of the warning message at boot up, if i dont push it the radio or media player wont do a thing, IE: it will always stay at this prompt, tried to wait 30, 45secs, 1 min ... still stay at his prompt, really really nagging me.

I managed to extract the bin files from the UPDATE.GCD file, it consist of fw_all.bin a pk_files66.zip, boot.bin, and 2 Unknown bin files.

It gives me an HWID 1468 with the latest 3.9 firmware.

I have my hand on hex tools, pe explorer, IDA Pro decompilers etc ...

I need a few hints or how to ?

    thanks @ll

If you don't know how to do it, why don't you post it for other to look at. Kind of hard to help without anything to work on. Not all of us have same equipment as you.

Post boot.bin and fw_all.bin, isn't that what the thread said where to look for the string? I don't think pk_files66.zip is relevant (isn't this the only "large" file?)

Update: I've extract boot.bin (493,312 bytes) and pk_files66.zip (79,788,619 bytes) from link posted. There is no fw_all.bin and no files of 23MB.

Extracted [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    SUZ1

    SUZ2

From 3490's TEXT file en_GB.glx it seems that the string is the this one
    SUZ3
US English is in the firmware and if I select an other country's Text, change these values from "true" to "false" and restart 3490, it automatically changes the TEXT back to US (default text).

I do not know if it's worth the trouble to eliminate this screen, you have to consider the danger of crashing or damaging your device and is not a ordinary Garmin device to bring back to life...

x-trail how did you get or convert en_gb.glx ????? thats my missing information ??? i was reading language posts and did not find this ???

I did found the STR_SUZUKI_WARNING_TEXT but i did not find where it was linked in the file or where it was attached ??? and how to get the .glx file

The pk_files66.zip contain the rom/ram content when the radio is running, i checked there, with nothing who could help me.

update.gcd seems to contain all the radio "OS" including voices, time zone (RGNEditor see's them) but for text files i have to find them, maybe in a hidden system folder.

    thks

Dont worry i know of the warning role, BUT it's a radio a navigation unit and music player,
Garmin should have done a better job designing, when you start only the navigation section, the warning should be there, the radio and media section should not be affected ??

With the warning only the volume level is working, but everything else is blocked until i acknowledge.

    EDIT :

I just find out about an hidden menu on the radio, i have acces to an integrated file manager, i will try to find the glx files or text files ???.

Since the integrated map is older than the one on the SD-card, with registering it with unit ID, i hope i will be able to push it to the radio... the SD-card will accept unlocked maps, but inside apparently need to be unlocked with the right procedures.

And i need to build a usb transfert cable, my grand vitara doesn't have this one, i did manage to find the radio pinouts. BUT there was warnings on other forums, that i do not let garmin web updater or updaters do their job because of the possibility of bricking the unit ????? I found out i can force the radio to be an mtp device (mass storage) maybe this will help.

Updates are only done with the sd-card ???

I have registered to the Garmin/Suzuki, gave my unit id and thru the unit, created a xml file on the sd-card, and with the web page it scanned the sd-card, downloaded the latest 3.9 version i have now, NOTE: It doesn't work with windows 10

Every Garmin Nuvi has a TEXT folder containing the non US languages .glx files.
In these files are the translations of the "firmware US English" strings' text that will be shown on the screen, when the strings are called up.
Inside your pk_files66.zip is a Garmin/Langs/ folder containing just two language files, es_US.glr (American Spanish, pn 006-D2244-03 ver3.90) and fr_CA.glr (Franais Canadien, pn 006-D2244-03 ver3.90) but they are in binary format, not in xml format as in Nuvis.
Maybe your device doen't have a Text folder and .glx files.
Your strings in the fw_all.bin start with STR_ because it's an OEM device.
There are 3 strings on the start screen, "WARNING" in red, the "warning text" and the "AGREE" on the bottom.

I did find the text files in he radio thru the file manager, will try to see if i can mod them

Maybe modding the fw_all.bin by finding the warning window / pop-up call would be better ??
