Hi,
I've ordered online a Garmin Edge explore 1000 - and I just did not realized that this is a different model than the 1000. Basically it misses feature in its firmware - so its just a software issue. In fact, the explore version has an acceloremeter which the edge 1000 is missing.
Anyway - is there a way to install the edge 1000 firmware into the edge E1000?
Thanks in advance,
Itay

You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
PCB 105-02276-00 is equal for both.
P.S. Probably based on STA2064 Cartesio™ family as infotainment application processor with embedded GPS (E d g e 1 0 0 0, E d g e E x p l o r e 1 0 0 0, A p p r o a c h G 8, E d g e 1 0 0 0 C T P)

Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
Do they have the same HWID? I suspect they'll be different. Edge 1000 is 1836.
@irousso
Would you please check your Explore's GarminDevice.xml for it's HWID. You'll find it in the Garmin root folder. Look near start of it for "<PartNumber>006-Bxxxx-00</PartNumber>". The 4 numerals 'xxxx' are the hwid.

Edge Explore 1000 has HWID 2204.
Thanks! Do you have firmware for it? Maybe UAT ....
EDIT: Don't worry, found V2.10 courtesy popej, should've looked there first.![]()

@irousso
If you are serious about doing a conversion, we now have all the right ingredients to make a 'hybrid' firmware which if it works will preserve the current HWID of 2204 while adding the firmware functions of Edge 1000. It is lower risk than flashing the full 1000 fw which changes the HWID to 1836.
If you'd like to try it just post and we can make a kit for you [all your own risk of course].

Hi Neil,
I'd like very much to try the kit for the "hybrid" firmware for my edge 1000 explore.

I'm happy to help you with this, however on close examination of the edge and edge explore firmware i've just noticed that explore has an additional region with info written to it. It's the same for latest fw for Edge 1000 V7.00 and Edge Explore V3.00, but this is earlier 5.20 and 2.10 compared in RGN_Tool:

Explore has region 136 [hex 88] populated whereas it's possibly empty in 1000. I'd like input from the Navigation Software Experts before proceeding further. It seems wise to firstly determine if the 1000's rgn136 has any info in it at all and it may be necessary to erase 136 in your explore when flashing hybrid fw to it. Logo bin files [region 16, hex 10] are same size but have different images.
Opinions please NSEs?
