See nuvi firmwares for example.
But for some devices some boot.bin versions don't flash regions 5 and 43.
Be careful when playing with x-loader and bootloader. When booting, x-loader is loaded by processor's ROM code and then loads the bootloader, which implements pre-boot mode and loads fw_all.bin (region 14).
I've read some your posts where you say that this 5 and 43 rgns are very important, and i don't do anything on it, only backup copy on the pc. But exploring the binary of 5 i don't see anything of specific for Dakota. I see only generic names for old Garmin GPS and also a 'Honeywell' string that have few, i think, in common with garmin. Same for 43 i see, no specific code for Dakota i think. From where came the code flashed in 5 and 43? Boot.bin (or the same code Ldr.bin) don't seems have all the code for the two rgn 5 and 43. The code came from the internal of Updater.exe PC sw? Also talking of GCD, it contain only Boot.bin and the GPS firmware rgn 14 code. Where are the 5 and 43 bin code? Part in Boot and part in Firm? In't understand ..... And also a split of code from one and from other binary seems very not pratical flashing procedure ....
Are the Dakota one of the gps that don't flash 5 and 43?
