I've been trying desperately bringing the preboot mode on a Nuvi 65, but despite I've read all posts of this thread and also tried by Google, no success so far. Could someone, please, help me? Thanks in advance!

Sorry for my bad English...
instruction in OP are ok for nuvi 66, picture too. I patched my nuvi 66 this way.
If you have to patch Nuvi, remember to open Updater.exe dragging .rgn in it, tick USB before starting nuvi .

I tried that, the device is showing in the drop-down list. But then I can't flash (Garmin Updater) "Garmin Device is not repsonding".
Any ideas? Device is a GPSMAP64S.

Thank you for your advice.
I changed the interface mode to Garmin Spanner.
Still I don't get beyond this screen unfortunately (I can select the device, therefore I presume the Pre-Boot mode is on):
