Had the same issue on my 3790 when i installed City Navigator Europe NTU 2013.30, but problem was only present when using portrait mode.
Screen would go black for a couple of seconds when the map was refreshing, Very occasionally, it would crash out completely, but never when i had the 3790 in landscape mode.

Haven't had an issue since i installed City Navigator Europe NTU 2013.40
