Only the Version Number has changed because it was edited.
In the previous patched firmware I've changed the GPS firmware also, not only the version number.

It could be also that GPS chip is flashed every time device is started (i.e. it won't work without being flashed with a firmware every time). In fact, I can check that.

This link says that 34xx has a bluetooth module paired with GPS module inside a single chip. But this doesn't necessarily mean that the new GPS module has a completely different firmware. There could be two modules (GPS and bluetooth) inside one chip accessible via separate interfaces. And "mt3328" string inside 34xx and 37xx firmwares suggests that it's probably true.
