I've used it on a 3790 [virgin, never converted previously to 3490]. Functions as a 3490. Identifies as a 3790 on boot. GarminDevice.xml and inventory page show HWID as 1101 so i suppose WebUpdater etc for 34x0 updates is a nono. Logo jumps up and to the right on boot and then disappears when loading maps. Only did the conversion as few minutes ago. I'll take it for a real world road test later and let you know the sat accuracy.

You can update it with WebUpdater, but it would just install 37xx GCD which would just erase 34xx firmware. Nothing exceptional would happen.
