You can see Asian characters on the icon for the language setting!
OK, I know i'm going to regret this ... but, here goes:
O Cryptic Cyrillic Master! (aka @Giomen)
What icon, and what does it say?
Yep! But you are saying it's not 140/150 fw anyway, aren't you? You (and/or the 'Icon') say it is 'usually' Asian? Asian fw for what?No TMC support for wired TMC! If only build-in TMC is supported! ...
Ummm? I don't think you actually have to be a German to go buy a 140 or 150, do you?..... But unfortunately there are no Germans...
EDIT: Icon = Logo??

Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
Yep. i'm regretting it!
I did notice that, but I thought it was Arabic script or something. I suppose it could just as easily be an Asian character too. "It's all just Greek to me though!" (That's a joke, but only if you understand colloquial English).
If you say it's an Asian character, fine, I accept that. But why does that mean the fw is Asian??

I studied English by two textbooks. The first is the instructions for the american arms. The second is the wrappers of chewing gum in the bin. Both are very far from the Shakespeare. I read and understand the meaning without a dictionary. But otherwise I like a stupid fish or Nuvi 765 with language guide. Accompanying me ladies talking instead of me. In my bachelorhood abode I am alone. Sorry!
About what I am? I thought 42/52 model for Asian market but I changed my mind Cyrillic present in software instead Chinese character!

NP. Some points (most of them OT, sorry!):
1. Anyone who can understand the instruction pamphlets for American armaments has my complete respect. (AU army personal had to study them too, but because we actually had to use their stuff a lot). Chewing gum wrappers do in fact contain more relevant and understandable info than US Arms Pams.
2. You are far from a stupid fish. A cranky fish at times, yes, but us single older blokes get bitter and twisted for good reason. BTW, language guide doesn't work in 765 as far as i remember, so i suppose you meant your other language skills are poor. But i'm sure you speak Finnish & Russian fluently and maybe others too, and your English is understandable to me (usually). I have more trouble deciphering Shakespeare. When i do have trouble understanding what your meaning is and then address you as 'Cryptic Cyrillic Master' it is far from derogatory or an insult. It is somewhere between a taunt and a compliment, but more of the latter for sure! If i think you're being aggressive, i call you 'G-Man'. Влади́мир Влади́мирович Пу́тин probably greased a few of them in his younger days.
3. No need to be sorry. *You have now discovered it is EU fw. This is some progress at least. Now, just slip on down to Germany and buy us a 140 or 150 and all will be forgiven.
*Only points that aren't OT are in bold ...lol.

Germany is in plans for Christmas!

Great! I will like you even more if you get me a 150T for Christmas, but I guess a 140T will be ok.
How about this for a sneaky idea, you or someone go to a store selling these that has a 100% refund policy, buy one, then as loly suggested try to dump regions using 40/50 boot.bin? Take it back for a refund if you really don't want to own it. Get a copy of the GarminDevice.xml as well. Might be a bit of a stretch on second thoughts, even with my abysmally low moral standards I would find it unconscionable and couldn't do it myself..... on the other hand, you.....??

I'm thinking that traffic will not work in Australia. (You probably find they have put the GTM 60 hardware inside the nuvi's case and made the traffic subscription localized.)Great! I will like you even more if you get me a 150T for Christmas, but I guess a 140T will be ok.
If I take my 3490LMT to Europe, Which is happening in March, I'm almost sure that traffic will not work in Europe. It looks like the subscription is only for the local traffic provider.
So I'm speculating that traffic in a German 150 will probably only work in Germany, or Maybe Germany + Europe and stop working in other places.
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.
Albert Einstein.
Thanks for your concern. My interest is more universal than personal. I have really no interest in using a 140/150 here because i'm sure you're right (in one way or another). Either the 'on-board' traffic receiver is (most likely) either GTM 60 based, or even if it's novel, or it's based on other current GTM receivers 25/26/35/36 it will be locked to an EU subscription only and will need to be hacked for others to be added. My interest is only for the 'greater good' of the EU members of this fine community [play stirring music here].
Dammit dasilvarsa, now you've made me admit to that there is zero chance that Giomen will get me a 140/150 for Xmas. Probably won't even send me a card now.
