I need help creating Update.txt
Garmin Nuvi 2598 (HWID 1582) (V.4.8)
When installing using SD (Garmin/GUPDATE.GCD)
installs and writes that update V.4.8 is installed
(at the same time I install V.5.5)
I installed LOGO using SD (Original and Custom), everything is OK
(The PC does not see the navigator)

Is there way to backup regions for Alpha 300i?
How to extract Ldr.bin file from software GUPDATE.GSP file?

Short answer ... maybe, but not as far as i know.
Long answer: Garmin calls it Unit ID (UID) and like a smartphone's ESN it's permanently written to the device at manufacture. Garmin's OS is quite opaque to us however the UID is plainly written in the device's GarminDevice.xml file. The UID can be easily changed in it in the same way that any plain XML can be amended, but then the device will update the XML on the next boot cycle and will write back the original UID. It's generally accepted that the XML is written from encrypted details held in the device's non-volatile memory region (usually region 41 or 154). We can decrypt and alter the nonvol information... however AFAIK it's not publicly known how to then, successfully permanently, write back altered and re-encrypted data to the region. Many of Garmin's regions are as opaque as to specific purpose. Even if we completely erase the nonvol memory, some data is automatically reconstructed properly when the device is rebooted. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that essential data like the UID along with registration codes etc. are permanently held elsewhere on the device as well.'Thanking Posts' are banned. FW5.10
Am I correct that I need to get the boot from a 5.10 gcd?
Should I use
rrgn,41,1:/41.bin
reboot
Or the rrgn,154,2:/154.bin ?
I've removed your device's Unit ID number from above to prevent any potential misuse of it.

For US/EU 37xx series, the correct reference for the <model> is "006-D1101-00" (so HWID 1101). Your quoted "006-D0397-00" is for the <update file>.
Use the ramloader (boot.bin) for V5.10 after ensuring your device's XML has this towards the beginning:
1:/ is the path to the media card in nuvi 37xx HWID 1101 series and its non-vol region is 41. Therefore use:Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
