It's actually OT here even though there's a command in there to backup region 154 (NV on most modern devices) because the prime intent of that is for the command "xrgn,14" to write modified firmware to the device's region 14 (hex 0E) to enable use of illegal unlocked maps to which the device is not entitled, namely out of its OEM localized area. Both the modification of their firmware and their mapping data is a breach of Garmin's EULA. Further discussion here is unwise.

- the same as gupdate.gcd but there are the separated instructions in the above-mentioned file plus each update component is present in the separate block due to its the purpose.

If you mean in regard to backing up their non-volatile memory with these commands, no. The DS 55/65 run a form of Linux not the usual Garmin proprietary OS.

There are 255 possible regions for nuvi devices. Not all are present, or if even if they are present some aren't populated. Also, depending on model, the file system is contained in either rgn 48 or rgn 83 or in some cases duplicated in both. Therefore if you include those regions you need a large media card and have the device connected to a power source while dumping. Sample command:

Where "x" is the region number. You can include 256 commands if you wish to dump all possible regions, 1 to 255. Many will be empty or return an error in the LOG file but all of the populated regions of that particular device will be dumped.
