    @ Petrberki,

Sometimes you have to do your own thinking:

Google it: JPG to PNG or JPG 2 PNG

There are lots of online website that can convert the file for you or just get a program to do the converting.....

One learns by doing the task for themselves rather than someone doing it for them.

    Examples:

    Website:
    freeconvert
    or
    convertio

You can even get an app for your phone to convert:
    Spoiler: converter jpg to png

Actually, my picture is in png format, with a transparent background and as I said it was ~ 9KB heavy.
But, during upload, obviously the forum mechanism did something to it (converted to jpg ???). Quite surprising to me.
Next time I will put it in a zip archive.

But now I'm on vacation, very far away from my computer for the next two weeks

    @hotport
That's surely not the correct BIN data from region 16. This is from my US/EU nuvi 2797:

My OS is also 64-bit, Win 11 Pro.

Information on the first page of the data source. There should be no errors. There is definitely no error in gir_editor. So I feel that it is a problem with the operating system. Do you need to install a special plug-in? After testing several computers, the results are the same.

I've previously used GIR_Editor in everything from XP to 10 and now 11 presently, no problem with it in any 64-bit OS.

The BIN file dump from a 2597's region 16 should be exactly 3 MiB (3,145,728 bytes) in size. Please supply a copy of your logo_2597.bin for comparison and advise its source (i.e., whether dumped from your own device, or from where it was downloaded).

Some devices have a different symbol file type that GIR_Editor cannot use, however neither nuvi 2597 nor zumo590 nor zumo 595 logos are affected. Perhaps you have a problem with GIR_Editor itself so to eliminate that possibility you should re-download it: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

But you posted initially a picture of GIR_Editor showing difficulty parsing a file named "logo_2597.bin" of which i requested a copy. So why are you now dealing with zumo logo bin files?

I am totally confused what you are doing and why. On the assumption that it's the same file in your first post, i've downloaded the file from Post#2 (logo_2597.zip) to get logo_2597.bin and it opens normally in GIR_Editor:

And here's the zumo 595 logo from that other thread you linked:

I'm not trying to deal with 590 files. I was testing other bin files and found the cause of the problem.
I think it's an operating system issue or a Windows patch issue. I tested on 3 computers. The result is the same. Keep trying to find the cause of the problem.
