I think when you asked previously about 'size' you mean the file size (i.e. bytes) whereas i assumed you meant the image's picture size (pixels). The message on the device screen means that it has insufficient memory to process the GIR, and likely that's due to the new image's file size.
Please post your original 16_backup.bin so i can examine it when i have time.

The image file size in the original logo you've supplied above is only 9.51KB. I suspect it has been highly compressed professionally because when opened in MS Paint the quality seems quite good. Usually Garmin logo images are very much bigger, in the 100's of KBs usually.
Graphics manipulation is not something i know much about. I'm aware there are free online compression tools available, however afaik when using any of them to compress a file the resolution quality reduces in proportion if you maintain picture size, in this case 800x480x32 pixels. I think you'd have to use a paid software program to get such a huge file size reduction (down to ~10KB from 300/400/500KB) and still have acceptable quality. This is the BMW image reduced from 562KB to 26.7KB using a free online tool:

I'd think if the already reduced image above was further reduced by another ~65% using a free tool to get it down to the same size as your original Garmin PNG that the quality would be terrible.
It wouldn't matter, could you please send me a picture so I can download it and see if I can upload it? I will also ask for information on where you edited the image and what values you entered ...

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ], but there are other free tools if you search for "free online tool to compress PNG" or similar. There is limited user input available with such tools, usually simply to enter the percentage reduction as i've done with that file (dropdown via 'gear' settings next to 'compress' button), the actual process is decided by the tool.
Yes as stated. I intentionally used Post Image link with the values retained so you could dl the original reduced file.
So unfortunately, still a white square with the inscription GIR LOW MEM. I'll leave it alone and be happy with what I have... Butter, I really appreciate your help and willingness... You're a great friend...
Try this one, 9.37kB, lightest I can make

Hi Boki_Srb, unfortunately your picture is JPG and I need PNG and I don't know how to convert it to PNG format...
