Thread: gpsmap 296 stuck on booting

Those "img" strings don't mean anything. Even very old devices like 60CSx have "gmapsupp" and ".img" inside their firmware.
Unfortunately, I don't know which region contains the map.
Can you try updating the map while in pre-boot mode?
Also I think erasing NV would be much harder, as this device doesn't support update.txt script.

Tried to update map with mainstall and mapsource - no result. programs don't recognize the device.
