Thread: Try to convert Nuvi 50us to Asian.

What I tried.
1). Us boot.bin + CHN fw_all.bin--> .rgn (.gcd won't work)
2). Us boot.bin + SgMy fw_all.bin--> .rgn (.gcd won't work)

Result
Nuvi start , Garmin logo appeared for 2 seconds and then power off.
Plug in with USB/charger + press power on--> nuvi won't start.

Press power on button for 15 seconds then release.
Nuvi will start with shortly appear of Garmin logo then power off.

Preboot.
Run updater.exe , connect comp-nuvi , press for 15 seconds , release finger , suddently press finger at left upper conner , then we are in preboot mode.

Not yet to try with original Asian firmware.
I guess nuvi will be dead.

Can you upload the firmwares, please.

Look like IT is tougher with every New Nuvi to convert!

you can try this 2). Us boot.bin + SgMy fw_all.bin--> .rgn but fix HWID to US version . I flas 1390 is ok ,but flas CHN is won't work.

Do you try convert to Nuvi 40 TH?

I tried to be SgMy / CHN / and failed.
I don't have Nuvi40 Thai firmware.

someone told the unit part number is written in a special memory area. Tough to convert from US.

But at least the older Nuvi50 CHN was able to convert US and SG. I assume the Asian unit may not a big different.

Maybe I need to buy nuvi 50 Asian to try.

Can you try convert Nuvi50US to Nuvi40TH?
