    Wow...

Thanks alot for very fast reply, from Lolypop000 & Catymag.

I used the solution from Loly, seems to be working just fine
Sorry Catymag, I was too lazy to do the NV backup, maybe next time.

Is it necessary to do this every time there is a new FW from Garmin ?
Or will the features be enabled forever ?

I have been serching for some specifications, about the video player,
as I have not yet been able to play any of my avi or mp4 on the device.

So any help about video file format, codec and resolution,
    would be very much appreciated.

    Best Regards.

    Hello Neil.

Thanks for your reply, have been struggeling for 2 days now,
converting video with "Super" video converter, wich I have
been using the last few years, and usualy does the job very well.
But for this job, its just not good enough.
I can recomend "Any Video Converter" It does the job.
I had a few problems with Video Bit Rate was too high,
now I tried with Bit Rate at 512, and its playing much better than 1024

Thanks Again Neil and Best Ragards.

I don't recommend to play with any mod without doing NV backup.
Experience recommends NV backup also if you use Express or if you use Webupdater to update firmware.
    Features are enabled forever.

    Hello all.
Tell me, please, with this mod I can enable the Smartphone Link for Nuvi 2455?
I just do not know whether there is a bluetooth module in it?
Also, please show me a microphone that would enable ASR.

    2455 -
    No bluetooth chip
    no microphone
    no components of the microphone.
In the model with 64MB RAM can not enable ASR.

After flashing the region bluetooth button will appear, but will be useless.

    Default 3590LMT and tracks

Question about tracks/trails/travelogue on a Garmin 3590LMT in Europe (Holland).

If I have "travel log" ticked, a track log is created, which is shown on the map.
That travel log can be deleted via "Applications" -> "Where was I" using "Clear Travel History".
If I know where that travel log is stored (and in what format) on the 3590, I would be able to put a track/trace/travelogue (made within BaseCamp) there, and thus I can run on that track.

    Is this a possible option?

Or else is it possible to disable (or only on request) the automatic rout calculation?

Thanks in advance for any reaction.

The Log is in Current.gpx and NVRAM
EveryTime the Nuvi Boots Current.gpx is created anew from NVRAM.
I think what you are trying to do is not possible in the Nuvi range.
What you can do is open the current.gpx in basecamp and convert track to route with many points and then change the points to off road in trip planner.
In this way you can sort of create an off road route that is sort of suitable for mountainbiking etc.
Otherwise just buy an outdoor device. (LOL)

    Neil, I bought my 3490 brand new from our local electronic store back in 2012 and it have never been modded before. Everything on it is all stock, untouched, besides the regular Garmin software updates. The ecoRoute HD must be enabled by default for the US. With that being said, are the instruction you posted the only way to enabled/disabled those features? Or is there another way? I'm just asking because I'm new to the modding GPS stuff. If this is the only way to enabled/disabled features, does it matter what software version my 3490 have? My 3490 software version is on the latest 8.20. Also, I have just finish reading the instructions from the "New and Easy Procedure" and I have quite a few questions to ask, they are;

    1) The "Garmin update files" download have expired, where's the new file download?
    2) It says "Firmware" required, what firmware? I click on it and it takes me to the "Garmin Receivers Firmwares" forum?
    3) It says "Open RGN_Tool --> drag nuvi34xx_GCDFile__710.gcd to RGN_Tool" but I'm on software version 8.20, does it matter?

I have a ton of questions to ask but I'll stop for now since the above questions seems to be the most important to me at the moment. Let me know if I should continue asking questions here or move over to the "2xxx and 3xxx series enabled features" thread. Thanks guy, I'm still trying to learn

    @3490lmt
I've moved your post above from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. In there i said to you this:

.......................I believe dasilvarsa is correct and ecoRoute should be available to your 3490 [Main Page 'Where To?/Map'>Apps>EcoRoute and you can set up your profile. However, in some localities you may have to make a purchase of the App.
    .............
Apart from purchase which i think is only about $10 anyway, you can modify rgn140 as detailed in Post #1 here, checking ecoRoute Standard and unchecking ecoRoute HD & ecoRoute Purchase. Please download the app and get a copy of rgn140 off your unit to open as 140.bin so you can then see what's checked and what's not. As to your 3 questions:

    1) Download V8.20 firmware here:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    2) That's the firmware, v8.20 GCD file. You can get RGN_Tool from turbo's site via the link is in cat2115's post or get it here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    3) That tut was written when 7.10 was the latest, your unit runs 8.20 firmware so you should use that.

We have a saying downunder: 'Just have a go, mate!' i reckon you will probably be able to work it out when you try.

If you then need further help as to how to proceed post again, but only after you've seen what you've got enabled in 140 now.
