    Lr,
how are things going? We have a 2010 1800 in australia. You say you you tried htp and poi loader, do you just load the card or is there a usb port somewhere to hook up a laptop???? We are going to pull a few bits off the bike and see if we can find a port.
Let me know if there is one.
    Thanks,
    hedley

No i just pull the sd card from the unit. I have been able to add maps and create an gmapsupp.img file that the unit will read but no luck with .gpx files yet. I am now using an 8 gig sd card with files copied from OEM card but had to use gimgunlock found on this forum to unlock the detail map. Garmin locks those maps to the sd card serial #

I'm beginning to believe they can't read or are side stepping my questions.

    Dear Terry,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. The 2012 version is different than the 2010 navigation system. The software update will not change to user interface or operation of your device. The only way to transfer routes, tracks, and waypoints from a computer to the Honda system is with the Trip planner.

    Barry,

Sorry but this was not any help, I have a 2010 GoldWing NOT a 2012. I would like to upgrade mine to the 2012 version is possible with firmware or if you (Garmin) can instruct me as to how I can add tracks, routes and POI to this unit on my own. (Installing gpx or gpi files to the SD Card. Yes I know I can do this from the motorcycle but it is overly tedious and only allows 1 route at a time.

    Thanks,

    Terry

    Gentlemen,

I have a 2010 Honda GoldWing with Garmin Navigation system. I also have a Garmin Zumo 550 and a Nuvi 1300. I have used POI Loader to install custom POI in the Zumo and am trying to do the same with the GoldWing units SD card, however once the sd card is reinstalled nothing appears. Is this due to the firmware in the GoldWing unit or am I missing something? It also appears that it will not work with gpx files so I am unable to create routes using mapsource or basecamp prior to a trip. From what I am witnessing the GoldWing/Garmin navigation system is about useless compared to your other products.

Hoping you have answers or suggestions for me.

    Thank you,

    Terry
