Thread: US Nuvi to UK Nuvi?

Hi Guys Ive been off the scene for a while due to a long illness and a bit out of touch at the mo.
Ive just got a US Nuvi 1300 (not MTK chipset) and was wondering what mods I need to convert it to a UK model so I can get UK voices working instead of the US ones.
Ive got the latest Europe maps working ok using basecamp but would like to flash to UK model with a view to doing the "enable hidden features for Nuvi 1300" thread.Ive done it previously with a UK model but this seems like a different ball game to convert to UK Model.
Im on early US 5.20 firmware at the moment

Nuvi US and UK both use the same firmware.

Oh! OK thats simple then,so how do I get rid of the US voices and install the UK TTS voices I have downloaded from Garmin.I get error message..... something along the lines of not compatable with my software version
Is it something to do with Locale file or HWID?

You probably should get rid of any incompatible voices that you have loaded previously as well as any others in languages you don't need if you want to free up space. Not all TTS voice are compatible with this old model. The size of suitable voice file for your Nuvi 1300 should be no less 16Mb, in two word for example!
