Not all Asian firmwares can brick US unit for all model series.
1xxx / 2xxx is dangerous but not for 37xx series.
If you seek a "almost never dies" (by ordinary flashing ways) Nuvi you should try 37xx.
If you want to flash across all of Asian firmware you shoud buy 3750.
