That post on using patched boot bin is quite hidden and might i suggest you make it a tut with full 'blow-by-blow' and we can add directly it in the Tutorial Index where it belongs as a standalone not just tucked away as a precis post on page 4 of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Like Loly, my attention was riveted this statement: 'I can make and restore NV backups anyway'. I also thought you meant you can repopulate the essential info in region41 after it's been erased. That would be revolutionary to me as a dummy-level Garmin wrangler and i guess anyone else. If you ever can do it don't keep it to yourself will you?

Neil, unfortunately, I can't edit NV records currently.
If I would ever be able to do this, I'm not sure I would publish the NV format or NV editor.
In case I won't, I promise to make a simple "NV distiller" web service or standalone application. Just upload your NV dump, select the record types you want to preserve and voila.

Thanks, but i wasn't for a moment suggesting that if you can do it that you then release a 'how to', that would be foolhardy if not insane. An app would be nice if someone couldn't reverse-engineer it to discover it's mechanism, but an on-line facility would be safest i guess. Anyhoo, yet to happen.

Is it possible to restore region 41 in pre-boot mode by using the updater.exe program ?

What I meant was, Can I make a RGN using Boot.bin and Region 41 (Like we do for logo.bin Region 16)
And then Safely Flash it in pre-boot mode without anything in the SD Card ?

dasilvarsa, for most devices you can't. Region 41 is almost always protected from flashing using RGN file. boot.bin patch can solve this problem, but manual patching is required, which is sometimes very complicated.
