I did bounce around there, sorry.

Catymag, the problem is that I am unable to make any permanent changes to the 1350. I can delete files, attempt a format, run a chkdsk to correct file errors, and when the unit reboots, none of the changes are saved and it reverts to the original configuration. It is acting very much as a read only image.

Default A problem with Nuvi 3710.

    Hi to everyone!
I am a newbuy of a Garmin Nuvi 3710. It worked ok till now, but I tried to install a new map and pluged it with data cable to my computer. First on the LCD shows GARMIN, after that picture that it is conected to the computer and after that it disapeared.
Now the Nuvi starts when I press the power button, shows GARMIN for 5 seconds and power off for another 5 seconds and this is continueslly. When I plug the usb cable it is the same, but this is repeated all the time. The Nuvi didn't boot to show loading maps.
The computer doesn''t find the Nuvi. I tried hard reset, but it doesn't work.
When I press and hold the left upper corner of the Nuvi, when GARMIN shows on the screen, it flashes SYSTEM 4 times, after that LOADING...... and thats all.
I will be very faitfull if you can help me. Please HELP ME!

    THANK YOU!

When you have writen in screen loading this mean that you in pre boot.
So you must install garmin usb drivers, from garmin site and use cure tool 3

    Hi
my friend asked me to update his Nuvi 250; I was so stupid that day I formatted his Nuvi...! stupid stupid stupid.
    of course: no backup.
now...I read online to try to connect to GarminWebUpdater to 'renew' the Nuvi: but it doesn't recognize the device (the pc can see Garmin folder but WebUpdater says no device).
I tried to copy some files from my Nuvi 660 too but I'm not so able: wrong method.
So: is the method this thread refers to the correct method to follow? Or some different suggestions?
I wrote twice to Garmin but no answers.

    please help me!!

    @paperosolitario

Format again nuvi 250 and after format on empty nuvi create new folder and add name Garmin
Turn off/On nuvi and you will have garmindevice.xml inside your Garmin folder
Now run webupdater and they will recognize your device and update it.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

and webupdater doesn't find the nuvi

You create new folder on empty Garmin and add name Garmin?
When you turn off and then back on nuvi you have this files inside folder Garmin?

Do you already use garmin cure tool?

yes, I formated again and followed your suggs; the only difference is I called my folder GARMIN and not Garmin; then turned off, turned on and I found the files in it.
I do not already use the cure tool..
