Thanks. My boss will sell it, so I would go back to 3790. There is no problem with GPS accuracy. I tried to get back as described but did not go. Updater.exe will start, but the software will not run on your device.
OK, I think I now understand what you were wanting. There's no reason to use an old firmware version to do the re-conversion 34xx > 37xx. Use the latest V5.10 GCD from the perry link above, or get it direct from Garmin:
Convert the GCD to an RGN with RGN_Tool as detailed in the first post and then flash it in preboot mode using Updater.exe. You'll need to follow that tut in initial post, but as a guide. Re-load 37xx logo and files. Post again if unsure. May I ask why you want to convert it back, are you having satellite accuracy issues?Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

In the meantime, I've been able to restore the software 3790, thanks for the help.
I have a nuvi 3790T, I did not understand, what would be the reason to turn it into 34XX? Can it be transformed into a Truck or Caravan / Camper Garmin nav?
It is then sure that the NTU maps are compatible with 3790T. It seems to work in fact, but I would like further confirmation.
34x0 is a more matured firmware than 37x0. Neither can run truck/camper/RV firmware.
37x0 were originally issued with NT maps as OEM in Europe. Later 37x0's sold in EU had NTU as OEM. The two map types use some different ancillary files and some the same.
For mature what do you mean, faster, more precise or what? Would you recommend this conversion yes or no? Converting the 37x0 to 34x0 should I then use NT or NTU maps?
Yes to that and the fact that 37x0 firmware was not as well-developed and basically stalled when Garmin brought out the 34x0 series. They are the same hardware, Garmin dropped 37x0 development when they moved to the 34x0 firmware which is more sophisticated and stable.
34x0 use NTU EU exclusively, there aren't complete ancillary files for that series to go with NT mapping for Europe. Maybe just convert it and see what you think. My first 3790 was converted to 3490 and back many times without problems.
Thanks a lot! Do you recommend convert 3790 to 34X0? It is so better? It is so easy update in future the nav because files are more present in the web?
For most users either 37x0 or 34x0 will suit everyday needs. Maybe just try the conversion and see how you like it as 3490, if you don't like it then convert back as it's pretty foolproof but keep in mind there's always a risk when you cross-flash firmware. Some 37x0's had different GPS chip to other 37x0 and 34x0 so they can suffer inaccuracy due to not having complete compatibility with 34x0 firmware, so you should read this too: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
