I bought the 60 HD Digital Traffic Receiver and its works great with my 3790 flashed with the 34xx firmware. No more ads on the screen.

That's good to know. I was wondering about that.

    About the GTM60 HD:

To all Canadian Users (well, at least those living around the GTA, but I believe all those far from the US border), don't bother buying such accessory as it has absolutely no impact in traffic info on 3490. The reason is because we are not covered by such service. Believe me, I tryed for several days and returned the thing. It shows exactly the same info the GTM36 it came with the 3790 shows. Seems that Garmin gives us no adds to sweeten our sore pockets. That was the same with our 3790's we had no adds while our US brothers had Speed Limit configuration. Oh, well!! why complain? Garmin has a lousy C.S. (So it's said, honestly I didn't use it so can't complain - yet).
By the way, did anyone see the bird's eye view mode? how does it look like?

    Caty,

I want to flash back to 3790 from 3490. Since I can't download the file from your links (nuvi37xx_GCDFile__450.rgn), do you think I can just download nuvi37xx_GCDFile__480.gcd from Garmin website and save it as RGN using RGN_Tool ?
Or there is something special that you had to do for the RGN file ?

    Thank you,
    Andrew

You have to navigate to get to the good.

Yes, use RGN_Tool to create rgn from gcd. This can be directly flashed to your nuvi. I think you need to flash it twice, first time you can get software missing. After flashing firmware you have to restore boot logo.

With 6.30 firmware update, Categories of Custom Pois are not shown correctly !!!

To get over this problem you can do as I did:

On my PC's hard drive I've organized my Custom Pois like this:
    - C:\My_POI\General_GR\ gpx,bmp and wav files
    - C:\My_POI\Radars_GR\ gpx,bmp and wav files
    - C:\My_POI\Dangerous_GR\ gpx,bmp and wav files

Poi Loader was reading from the "red" folders and before 6.30 everything was OK

NOW with 6.30 here is what you have to do, so you can see the Categories of your Custom Pois:
    - C:\My_POI\General\General_GR\ gpx,bmp and wav files
    - C:\My_POI\Radars\Radars_GR\ gpx,bmp and wav files
    - C:\My_POI\Dangerous\Dangerous_GR\ gpx,bmp and wav files

Now Poi Loader must read from the "green" folders so you can see categories in you Nuvi

With 6.30 update Poi Loader does not like to read from a folder that inside have POIS, but to read from a folder that inside has another folder and inside this one are the POIS!!!!

    Thanks to George

    Default New Address Search filtering

A few weeks ago I updated a 3490LMT to 6.20 firmware and 2012.40 maps. I did an address search today using Where To > Address and there is a screen that prompts you to select "Spell City" "Enter Postal Code" "Search All" and "State or Country." The interesting thing is after you select one of these items and start inputing the first letters or numbers, the unit starts filtering the number and letters on the keyboard to only the ones that are applicable for your search (like the way Magellan does it).

To my knowledge, Garmin has never does this on any unit (?) and I don't remember the 3490LMT doing this before. I tested a 3590LMT on 6.20 firmware and it doesn't do it either. On the 3590LMT, when you go to Where To > Address, you don't get the screen described above "Spell City" "Enter Postal Code" etc. Instead the first screen that pops up is a number pad to input the house number.

Does anyone with a 3490 or 3590 do this filtering on address searches? Does anyone know how to enable it?

I think the search fuction changes with the MAP.
I've noticed that Europe MAP has Postal Codes.
South Africa Map do not have Postal Codes.

This is not exactly what you are asking but it is just an observation that certain Search Functions Change when you use a different MAP.

On my 3490 (modded 3760 with All Features Enabled) with 6.30 firmware and CNEUNT 2012.40 Address search looks like this:
    postal
With every new tap on a letter (or number), new letters (or numbers) are now enabled or disabled.

With another map, Address search is different.
Postal Codes is not a feature of this map, so "Enter postal Code" it's disabled and not shown on the screen.
Smart filtering is also disabled with this map and as I continue to tap on letters, the list of available cities is shown on the screen.
I believe it has to do with the \.System\SID folder and CNxxNT maps.
