Reflashing the filesystem may help. Of course master Alexander surely will help.

    Hi Alexander
I understand from a couple of forum posts that you are pretty magical at helping revive Nuvi's where silly users (IE me) have formatted and neglected to back up the hidden folder (me again).
So despite backing up all the other folders; my father's NUVI 1340 will not boot. I have spent several days trying to rebuildi using the XML file, and have succeeded in getting a GMAPBMAP.img in the .System, but I cannot find a way to populate all the necessary files.
I have the folder contents available as jpg but no attachments on the webform.
I have used the firmware updater and it will boot to allow access to the folders on a PC and I have used webupdater to update the files after changing their version numbers in the GarminDevice.XML file.
I seem to be missing SW_IMAGE.ver and the original map with associated checksums/unlocks.
I've just replied to a posting describing my non booting issue, and hopefully Lolypop might be able to email me a link to their backup, but I'd rather cover all my bases as my dad will be ordering a new one in a couple of days if I can't rescue this one.
with best regards and thanks in advance
    rosbif.
PS I would have PM'd you, but your stored private messages are full.

also web updater can't detect my garmin 1300
coul you also help me to bring back my nuvi ?
