Bluetooth in 34xx is a feature that can be enabled by xml or probably by editing region 140 too. But defalut setting for BT feature is off, if you enable any other feature by xml and you don't add xml for BT too, then it will be reverted to default state.
You are wrong. I had unit in which BT icon was on the main screen, BT was enabled by xml. BT software version was on Device->About screen and so on. but I was unable connect to the phone.
Was exactly as said Turbocc " BT looks like it is working but it is not. If you disable it and try to re-enable it in the BT menu, it won't"
But now it works.

3750 converted equivalent to 3450+ but more features ...
3760/3770/3790 converted would equivalent 3490+
I have to say that due to our 'efforts' Garmin has started to protect their devices from flashing patched firmwares. In particular, GCDs for nuvi 24xx, 34xx, 30, 40, 50 are digitally signed. There is a 256-byte signature appended at the end of every GCD. The signature is an encrypted SHA1 hash of GCD contents. I can claim that SHA1 is used, because I've seen it in disassembly. Also I'm quite sure the encryption is asymmetric because long-integer functions are used. So it looks like we can't fake the signature. Now imagine that Garmin digitally signs also RGNs and update.txt&ldr.bin on some new device. The era of easily hackable devices would end.
That's why you'd better think twice before sharing things like UnitID copying.

It's always a danger to let the Mfg know what you can do with their devices.
Much of the info shown openly may be best served by sharing thru PM's only. But that has difficulties too.
If they shut out the hackers too much, I think their sales may suffer.

It is nine days news! As long ago as this summer I read the one of Garmin bulletin about new 2012 series of Nuvis at one of Western Europe distributor. Garmin declare in it what new series will more closed in variant of SW modification by functions. Also Garmin ask to report about all "modified" device that detect in service points. Especially Garmin ask to indicate the seller of such device. And so on...
Kunix! You are not citizen of advanced capitalist country and so must know about real illegal market of software and hardware in your countries. I think our forum is a little bit of Garmin problems. They deal with a frank criminal sellers in much more size. Welcome to East, the brother Garmin, what could i say...

Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
@kunix,
When did they add this to the 34xx? I have not seen any released firmware and it is still working. If what you say is true (and I am not doubting you!), it has started long before our latest information "leaking". Those things are not released that fast on the market before cautious testing. I claim they started a year ago because VPM voices modified by TTSVoiceEditor would not work anymore on the nuvi 290. They will probably be expanding this to other files. We'll see. One more challenge. That is all.

HTC at the begining of the year also began locking the bootloaders of some smartphones for the customers not to use custom ROMs but at the end they surrender.Hope Garmin look and learn from the mistakes of others and don't repeat them.
and here we go again.
Maybe 2 months and we break the Garmin code.
All that Garmin try to disable,we enable back.
