I downloaded 3.30 and 3.40 but programs always tell me "There´s no update avalable for your product". My eTrex Vista HCx is on 3.20.

edit: found it: firmware 3.30 and 3.40 is not for Vista HCx, it`s only for Vista Cx

Use version 3.20! You nothing to find and nothing to lose with 3.30 or 3.40. This versions is usually SW for supporting manufacture. By another world it have minor change for support a new device with new circuit design. If you have the "old" Sw so you have "old" circuit design. The best the enemy of good...
