rename it gupdate.gcd and put it in a Gamin folder in sd
remove any previous gupdate.gcd in your device
restart your device

This worked perfectly on my Montana 650, but when I tried this method to do the gcd update on my Nuvi3790LMT, it didn't work. I tried copying the gupdate.gcd into the Garmin folder and then into no folder. The unit did not see it, or at least did not respond to it.
