Thread: How to Convert Oregon 450us firmware to CHN? I have Oregon 450 CHN V2.2 GCD/RGN

I am a little late in other requests, but maybe the software missing is due to other HWID and SW Version not replaced by RGN_Tool. I have yet to work on this issue that happens for some GPS model. You can try to make a manual search and replace with a Hex Editor. RGN_Tool will likely miss one or 2 instances. I think it is in the boot.bin section, but check also fw_all.bin to be sure.

Not the HWID and SW version's problem, Garmin added another checker inside firmware.
I think the checker inside all non-english model.
I am checking TWN firmware, need a little time.
The problem is:
After run english firmware on non-english model, the non-english model will report software missing too.
Only run! not flash english firmware to non-english model!
I can convert OREGON 450&550 USA to CHN version, the newest CHN version is 2.30.
I think pureblue got factory firmware from garmin.
These filename is like as map of NAND chip.

I got a same problem in OREGON 550 US to Korean.
I used RGN_TOOL Ver 0.74... But always "software missing"
Can you convert USA to CHN firmware ??
How can you do that ? Please Let me know !!!

I have try all firmware combinations.....

If it has another checker.... it will be inside boot.bin .

How can I find Hex code ?

Jinzhanhua, how did u convert oregon 450/550 US to CHNversion??

i flash oregon 550 china v2.00 covert to us v3.4 is ok ,zhe HWID is B1525 ,is 2012 new outdoor version. but ,covert TW can not work "system software missing...."
