Garmin extremely not actual in this context! Moreover I do not know about Italian language but I am often need to switch to English that understand a menu item in Russian What is why I extract TXT source from gupdate.gcd and make full translation myself...

Download the firmware that you want and apply the firmware patcher. You will have an original and a modified version. Rename the modified to gupdate.gcd and copy it to the garmin folder of the memory card or to internal memory of the gps. Initialize the gps and wait until the end of the process. Be sure, first of all, that the batteries are charged and do not interrupt the update process in any way.

Garmin 60CSx Whiz - 60CSx Hacking Hack the graphics

Garmin are still not encrypting or checksumming their firmware files,
and all of their graphics are clear to see (and replace) in their firmware files
(16 bit graphics these days).
