    I afraid Sly27 will brick his device. To flash regions without appropriate knowledge is VERY dangerous.

    Wise words. But he has to learn somehow, like we all did. Let's hope he doesn't brick it. He's now posting over in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    Lo and behold..apparently lolipo readme is not that ....complete now is it...I was simply told...oh follow that up even grandmma could do it..and now ups..here pops the question...have you replaced the original ldr.bin??? DUH?? what original ?? who mentioned anything about replancing an original? i was told only to be careful to rename the file in 1101....tha's all....so i guess everyone is just betting of when i am going to brick my unit...but no one is understanding that i am a mere mortal who owned a nuvi for only 10 days and never modeed anything...why can't this be simple step by step instructions? open that folder..insert that there etc....??
    why am I send to read turbo post..where he talks freely obout GDb rgn firmwares etc, witouut letting us dense ones know where is the darn firmware..is it written on the original sales package??? on the purchase receipt???...on someone's forhead?
    and how to do things....like they explain so clearly of how to unlock a map with jetmose software....
    Please guys...instead of betting when i am going to brick the unit....please have a hart and have a 1 on 1 seeion with me via voce....so i can do stpe by step what i have to do...
    it is a miracle i haven't bricked my unit....but i'm certainly ging in that direction....so I am at the step of replacing the ldr.bin..FROM WHER|E? where is the bin I ave to copy paste in lolipo's package????

    @Sly27
    Your frustration is understand able, but please keep in mind that the problem is as voyager56 points out: You are inexperienced. Somehow you have to gain a basis knowledge of what fw does and how to know what its 'parts' are, eg what is the boot.bin (Ldr.bin), & how to extract various regions eg 140.rgn. Not knowing that kind of thing puts you at a disadvantage and also us trying to advise you. It is assumed normally that a member wanting to mod fw has at least a basic knowledge of these things or, as voyager56 pointed out, you do run a big risk of bricking your unit by trying to flash it wrongly. eg 35xx 140.bin to your 3760 could have caused problems for you but fortunately the unit refused to accept it. If it had flashed, it may have just crashed and rebooted, or it have have 'bricked'.

    Nobody is betting on when you will brick your new 3760. Voyager56 said he was 'afraid' you would brick it, and points out "To flash regions without appropriate knowledge is VERY dangerous". No bets, just fear that you didn't know what you were doing, and good sound advice to educate yourself first.

    Bricking it is the LAST thing we want to happen. Why? That's not what ANYBODY here would want for a start because as i mentioned in my first reply post to you, this forum is about co-operation. Helping each other, for no fees. But...the importance of your possessing basis knowledge cannot be understated. From that post:

    Every single item of basic knowledge that you need to know before flashing fw is available on this forum. We should not need to micro-manage every new member as Loly and Caty are now doing for you on this page over in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    So no need to reply to this or even acknowledge it. Keep posting over in the other thread as i see you've been doing while i caught some z's. You'll get there eventually. But please do try to not 'shoot the messenger' because everyone here is only trying to help you. However, you must read everything that is suggested to you and also everything linked there.

    ok, tried flashing my 3790T us 4.90 to chn 2.2. Everything boots up fine but my touch screen won't respond after map loading. reverted back to us version and everything is working fine. Can't figure out what i did wrong.

    1. use rgn tools to copy my orignal boot bin from gupdate
    2. use rgn tools to make rgn file from other chn gupdate. by loading orginal boot bin and the rest from chn_gupdate file.
    3. load it in with garmin updater.

    Convert again. Try a hard reset after rgn flashed.

    I have the same problems, very few Asian firmwares boot on my 3760 and when they boot, touch doesn't work. I haven't found any solution.

    @aek
    Does 3790US with CHN2.20 give audible overspeed warning and show US/EU/AU jcv properly?

    3790 with Asian firmware won't show US/EU JCV properly.
    jCV will be displayed as turn preview and we need to press back to navigation page.
    (even we select half screen jcv option).
