    Thank you for your reply.

I have installed SP2.33, and it seems to be running well on Nexus 5 (KK4.4.4).

Initially, I installed the apk file from catymag's post (Garmin Street Pilot v.2.33 Android 4.4.x)
Then I created the folders according to the screenshot posted in the same thread.
After that I copied all the necessary files into the sdcard/Garmin/ folder.
Result: SP2.33 was running, but experienced occasional FC.

After reading other posts, I came across mention of another set of files for the sdcard/Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/ folder.
So, I copied the designated files into this folder as well

Now, it seems that SP2.33 is running better.

    Could you please advise:
    1) Did I do the installation correctly?
    2) Are the files in the sdcard/Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/ folder necessary?

As you can see, I'm still learning, and appreciate any assistance.
    Thank you in advance.

The reason why we have so many different versions is because the path to Garmin folder is hard coded in the executable .so file. This app will only access that path for maps, languages, voices, ex... What version you pick depends on how your device Storage is setup. So you have to check that with some file manager. Then the other question is are you rooted or not. Some not rooted devices can only access access the /sdcard/Android /data... Some people prefer to install on internal storage so they pick sdcard0 version. Others like external so they pick sdcard1 or extSdCard. Now what ever version you pick that's where the extra files should be places. Other folders are not used. Not knowing exactly what path version you installed, I can't say what folder is actually used. You can rename the folder and start Streetpilot. If this folder was the one used, you won't be able to get passed the language setting. It will also make a dummy Garmin folder which you will need to delete to rename back. If Streetpilot actually started normally with folder renamed then you can delete it because it uses the other one. Hopefully I cleared something up and not confused you more.
