Done that, been there, Garmin rootfolder according to garmindevice.xml.
Maybe the version I installed is not 100% compatible with my Nexus 5.

Hey guys i got some trouble!!
When use XXX.apk i find when the phone !!!!
After install XXX.apk and restart the phone!! The all files in /data/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/lib/ will de deleted
And before restart i use root explorer to see folder's Permission .. And it's Permission is Group Permission..
Which group is com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext-1 and it's Permission is rwx-rx-rx
After restat the phone !! it's gone !!! The folder in /data/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/ all gone!!
Even i use Auto-sign to repack the apk !! There is useless!!!

Could some one made the following apk for me to test it
my sdcard location is /storage/external_SD/Garmin

Guys check this thread: fiedll's post n2 and 5:

platform.xml file modification:
with open platform.xml file "/ system / etc / permissions" directory RE Manager and add
<group gid="media_r" />
<group gid="media_rw" />

This is my native (Sony L36h, the Hong Kong version 4.4.2) modify the good platform.xml file, I do not know whether the other common mobile phone, use caution, after replacing remember to modify permissions: RW-RR , best yourself modifications.

A few hints of how I get this working on my Note 3 rooted stock 4.4.2.
1.Install the apk
2.Go to data/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/lib
3.copy the right libgarminos.so and give permission rwx r-x r-x
4.copy the libasusscreendict.so, libasusscreendictservice.so and libgmxt.so in system/lib/ and give permission rw- r-- r--
5.rename your old Garmin folder from extSdCard in gmxt
6.unlocked map need to be on this folder as gmxt/.System/gmapprom.img

question on the red highlight above.
which one is correct permission, rwx r-x r-x or -rwxr-xr-x with equivalent number of 755? this kind of confuse me. can we have what is the equivalent number on that particular permission.

I own a Galaxy S5 too, I follow all directions and yet the program begins with problems and then stops, it would be so kind as to tell me like it did work?

Easiest install is probably using ORAK's non-root version. Follow the instructions in his post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. No hex editing or root access required. Just copy the correct folders into either internal or external SD under Android/data/... Install the APK, reboot, and it should work.

I downloaded the external SD card version and installed the maps on the external SD card of the S5 at:
/storage/extSdCard/Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin/Map/

Thank you for your prompt response, the program itself runs smoothly ... the map shows, allows searches; but the problem appears when trying to calculate route
I currently use the map of Venezuela Venrut v.14.07
