All the links in the initial post are from Garmin's Philippines website exclusively. Products are not always uniformly discontinued as you've noted, nor are they always simultaneously introduced worldwide. Market demands and popularity vary by region for many reasons and product suppliers react accordingly.

If your point is however that the thread title could imply that the discontinued product lists is applicable world-wide then I do tend to agree, however one glance at any of the links identifies the source as PH.
