Download and install install the version below, it works perfectly, including with offline map, as long as it is not the original Garmin City Navigator. Use the OSM or other .img Garmin.
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
The map must be installed in the folder .... Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.viago/files/Garmin (from the card or internal memory).
In the same folder, create with a text editor (notepad, etc.) a file named: country_codes_generated.gar. The content of the file must be in this format {"gmapsupp.img":"xx"} where xx is the language code of your country: US, GB, IT ..

There is a possibility to use the garmin (.img) maps in some other app. for android?
Yes, it is possible, but only .img maps Garmin non-original (Open Street Map..). A compatible app is Orux Maps.

Until December of 2018 the app worked normally with Android 7. In January when I tried to use Viago, the same internet authentication warning appeared, but I had recently installed Android 8. The problem may be compatible with the new android or simply block or end of service by Garmin, which I think is more likely. A simple test with Android 7 can give us the certainty of the cause.

Just install the app. With the app listed above it worked ok. Try with android 7 or lower. If it does not work, Garmin probably should have disabled the authentication system, blocking the operation.
