Garmin Mobile XT problem. I have been using it satisfactory for some days. However beginning yesterday, the backlight on function did not work.

My cell phone backlight control is set to turn off after 5 minutes to conserve battery power. When I installed the Garmin mobile XT, the 'backlight ON' of it can override the backlight control of the cell phone to keep XT backlight continuously on during my journey but beginning yesterday, for unknown reason, the backlight control of the cell phone become perevalent. After 5 minutes, the backlight turned off so did the software!!

Anyone encounters this and knows of ways to overcome that?

Hi. i finally managed to install the garmin exe file, basemap and support files,

i have a folder inside my phone E drive which says garmin, when i open this all that shows is 3 folders, firmware, help and voice also a GMAPBMAP.IMG with a ? sign

i managed to put the sis file into the phone of garmin and when i open it only the front screen appears and then dissapears/closes the garmin program does not open

Can you please help me I really want to run this on my phone

you havent followed the guide step by step
have you run the sis file from the phone?
the app isnt completely installed , follow the guide
GMAPBMAP.IMG is the base map
after running the sis file restart ur phone

Hi,
I have been following the step guide, i dont think the ovi suite allowed me to install onto the phone Garmin in the first step, im going to retry the whole thing again, im really sorry for this I am really bad at using apps etc dont really know what im doing lol

The Garmin icon, runs all i get is the start up screen and then closes is that because i havent yet placed the maps in. on my computer a garmin folder was created with sub folders witin such as voices, apps, font, GPX etc should this not be in the phone itself??? as the garmin folder in the phone only contains the files firmware, help and voice also a GMAPBMAP.IMG.

I know this folder should also be in the phone, but how do i put it in there, via the E: drive just copy and paste it?? and into the garmin folder or empty the contents into the garmin folder in the fone already as they would clash otherwise?

Hope that makes sense

im currently donwloading the MAP the part 1 and part 2 files from 2shared i hope they are correct ones also as they are taking ages to download due to size of file lol
