Hi,

Sorry for appearing a bit thick but I can't seem to work out how to unlock these Topo maps for viewing in Mapsource.

I've read through the whole topic but nothing seems to jump out to me as the answer.

I've used the Keygen to unlock the full GB road maps on Mobile XT and that worked a treat but these Topo maps seem to be a completely different thing. Am I missing something obvious?

Should all the files downloaded be put in the same folder in c:\garmin or in separate folders? Excuse my ignorance but I was expectecting to see img files instead there are the large cab files. Am I missing something?

When you click "ok" in the warning box does Topo work ok? because this is normal,even on Garmin supplied versions of Topo with a code supplied from them.

No, There is only a box, about half of the screen size, where the topo is displayed correctly. In the rest of the screen the topo is hidden, only main roads are displayed there.

Do you have any of the tool bars or menus visible so you can zoom in?

Zooming works correctly, but the box in the centre of the screen remains. What is presented there is zoomed, but the size of the box remains half the screen size.
In the mean time I discovered that the content of TOPOGB2.tdb (125 KB) causes the problem. I had an old version of Topo Great Britain and I used the old PRODUCT.tdb (41 KB) by copying it to the TOPOGB2 folder and renaming it to TOPOGB2.tdb
Now the problem is over and everything seems to work correctly (I didn't test it extensively).
I also removed [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\MapSource\Families\TOPO Great Britain v2\1\Logos] and all its subdirectories from the registry. Now the osgb.gif image isn't displayed at start-up of the Topo Great Britain.
