    Default Where's the best tutorial to make maps?

    Hi Folks

    really is that simple of a question "Where's the best tutorial to make maps?"

    I'm looking for tutorials that are SIMPLY and EASY too follow to build maps with layers using OSM data and other sources..

    Any maps I manage to build will be for the UK at first and I will be happy to share without any cost...

    Looking forward to the responses,

    regards
    Lohtse

    @lohtse,

    Start with the Garmin site:

    and

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    There are lots of sites that show you how to make you own maps for Garmin GPS Unts.

    Also try here:

    Thank you for those links...

    Sadly none made reference to OSM data... which is what I had mentioned in first post...

    Also the GPSarchive link only has information for GPX to img not creating maps(at least I could not find one)

    As too "There are lots of sites that show you how to make you own maps for Garmin GPS Unts."

    I am aware of many sites but though I would ask here to see which are recommended by fellow forum members... Most of the site tutorials I have seen are out dated or seem over complicated.... So asking here I thought would be a better start.

    @Edward Norto,

    Very good posts.

    The problem with lohtse is that he wants a new and updated way to make maps.
    Well these sites as you have pointed have been there for a very long time and and they work and are not out dated.

    @lohtse,

    There is enough info on how to make your own maps one way or the other.
    It is up to you to learn how to do it.

    Spoiler: making maps under MAPS Custom Maps Tutorial
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    See screen shot

    Spoiler: In the map section under custom maps and read

    I quote you:

    "Most of the site tutorials I have seen are out dated or seem over complicated."

    How do you know they are out dated or to complicated if you do not try to make any maps????????

    If you do not understand making maps then I would just use what is out there that will work on any Garmin GPS.

    So the best thing for you to do is read and try read and try.
