Out of curiosity, has anyone NOT been affected with this Garmin Firmware update using an unlocked map?
Has anyone tried unlocking a map with Gimgunlock and seeing if it still works?

Gimunlock will not work any longer to unlock the charts if you update your unit software to the later/latest version. The new locking scheme was included in the latest software.
Your only option is to NOT update your software... or if you have already updated, try to downgrade to your older version.
As far as I know, no one has come up with a work-around yet.

I have just updated maps and software on my Nuvi 52LM.
Having not checked in to the forum for some time I may have made a monumental error then?
I have the free UK/Ireland update with the unit but does this mean my unlocked Western Europe maps on the SD card will fail to work?
