Whether you've used the PC Install version [gmap folder] to make your own image with MapInstall or you're loaded an already compiled image file to you device, it'll all end very badly eventually without a basemap. Check your unit in MSM connected to PC, depending on unit the basemap will either be in x:/Garmin or x:.System and it'll be named gmapbmap.img. If not in there, get the World DEM basemap V5.01 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or some other non-DEM/regional basemap depending on your unit.
