D2563150A full screen, used in nuvi 765 & jcv-capable 1xxx series for example. D3531120A split screen is for 2/3xxx nuvi series for example, it can also be used in full screen units but pics will display stretched to fill the screen and a little washed-out looking because of the lower resolution.

Thanks Neil! Would it be correct to translate your answer into a general rule that original 2xxx JCV files are suitable for 3xxx too, and vice versa?

Yes Mate, that's true. The Western [US/EU/AU etc] split-screen ['PortraitFull]' file is used in capable nuvi 2xxx and 3xxx of any series/model year 2011 to current e.g. 2350 to 3597 and all jcv-capable model numbers in between.
